I Have a Suggestion for Similar Worlds

Page scrolls to the top every time I hit the back button. Quite frustrating. Latest Firefox (57.0.1).

Hello,

This issue is now fixed for the next version of Similar Worlds.

Thank you,
Nuno

@Nuno OK, thanks.

@Nuno Seems to be working most of the time. Thanks. I sometimes find if I make a post on a page and then go back, I'll still go back to the top, but I haven't tested enough to see if this is consistent. However, for most non-interactive browsing it seems to be working right. Thanks very much.

Thank you very much for coming back to me.

Yeah - we released this change already! Glad to know you're happy with it. Hopefully it works well most of the time :)

Hello,

Can you please provide more details about the problem?

On every site, if I press the back button, I expect it to go to the top of the previous page I was in. Is this not what happens on Similar Worlds?

Thank you,
Nuno

@Nuno I assume you mean standard on SW, because I don't see it anywhere else on the Web. But I appreciate your taking my suggestion on board.

@ninjavu I meant the behavior of auto-scrolling to the place you were before is a standard now :) very long ago, going back always sent us to the top. Anyway - I'm saying that you're right and we should look into this.

@Nuno Right. And I've never actually seen anything "auto-scroll" (unless it was some sort of JavaScript-commanded function); the page is just redisplayed (not even reloaded) in the same place right from the cache. I won't argue with you on the matter of what happened "very long ago" because my recollection of minutiae like this doesn't go back 20+ years. :)

Appreciate your engaging on this though. It looks good on you and SW.

This has been the case from the onset. The developers made a small improvements for the main story feed.

I think they have designed their web pages to do this and can't recover except for a major rewrite. It is extremely annoying.

@daveal Ah, I see. It just makes me open a lot of tabs to get around it, but in the end that's sometimes more efficient anyway.
