What type of content is mostly posted on SW? 🛡️ ✅ 🔞

SW Official Stats: 4.5 Million Posts

Post Maturity:
Family Safe: 4%
Non-Adult: 80%
Mildly Adult: 8%
Adult: 6%
Nudity: 2%

On "Similar Worlds", users will more often see the type of content they have previously interacted with.

For example, there are many users who mostly see: supportive, thankful, inspirational, positive posts, in their feeds.

SimilarWorlds is Not an "Adult Site", just to make it clear (we see users promoting this idea),
neither is it any more "unsafe" than any other public social platform.

We prioritize showing users content they subscribe to, or most often engage in.

It is best that users not describe SW as being an "xyz inappropriate site" (not all do, but it seems far too often),
as this only creates a negative image of our community, where the majority of users do not deserve such a label.

Also this attitude only helps to attract more "inappropriate people" to this site, while dissuading lots of other regular people who join here daily, from sticking around.

Negative posts and comments, have a greater and lasting impact on users, compared to the larger majority of positive and neutral ones.

There's no problem with engaging in adult content on this platform, if that is your preference;
however, there is no need to attempt to force that label on other users that come here for other types of content.

SW is a platform for mostly everyone.

It's fine to share with others what your interests on SimilarWorlds are,
without assuming that everyone else is here for the same. 👍

Happy Monday, and have a great week ahead! ✌️

I want to see EVERYTHING.👀 I have my filters wide open so I don't just see what I've interacted with...which makes the algorithm just show me more of the same because that all I saw on the page..sigh. Must I repeat the past??😩

My current strategy is to get posts from the right responses thingy
@bookerdana It would be so simple, wouldn't it? Three settings (all chronologically) :
Show me everything.
Show me activity from people I follow.
Show me activity from groups I've joined.

@NudasPriest YES!!! But people are leaving the site ,permanently or on hiatus because they keep seeing the same posts over and over. Youtube or Tik_tok may need an algorithm but a site the size of SW???
IF they had a poll, the algorithms would be gone, but its not a democracy and not much fun
@bookerdana Poor admins can't even afford a hearing aid battery.

@NudasPriest Sorry that was funny,I laughed...but they know they've hassled several members who dared complain
@bookerdana I've mentioned before on this kind of post that the changes are why I refuse to buy VIP anymore.

@NudasPriest Same...we started out the EP replacement, now we're the Twitter alternative, the yahoo Answers (whatever)...not to mention the iOrbitex people who never arrived.....you can't be all things to all people
@bookerdana The thing about seeing day old posts, is that many users ignore notifications it seems, and so one can't interact well on them. Comments don't get seen anymore. Obviously not all the time, but often. New posts provide a much better chance of conversation etc.

... and if we want to see more of a certain users posts, we can click on their ... wait for it ... profile!

@NudasPriest The in real time back and forth banter gave EP its charm....now,we're much more like Yahoo Answers....the admin will see this and I'm sure many other dissenters and decide its just a small group of malcontents, sadly
@bookerdana The world is addicted to 'change for changes sake' ... forgotten all about 'if it ain't broke don't try and fix it'.

@NudasPriest GK Chesterton wrote about this..about people coming upon a wall that people wanted to tear down, not knowing why it was built...I often find solace in Chesterton
@bookerdana Interesting. Sounds like a good lesson in unintended consequences. I hardly read at all anymore, sadly.

@NudasPriest Maybe audiobooks? Not my thing but it gets you out of the talking heads blogs and youtube chanels
@bookerdana I've realized that I need music more than anything, to keep my brain working. Also, I'm signing out in a moment. Thanks for the conversation.
