Hi everyone,

We're now supporting Instagram Reels, starting today.

Please note that Reels from Facebook aren't supported, due to a technical limitation. If you can find the same Reel on Instagram, use the Instagram link instead.

Enjoy!

Let the reels begin!

@Nuno oooh brilliant thanks so much 👏🏻👍🏻😄

@Nuno not that I would use this feature, yet why do you say the FB reels are not supported, then go on to intimate that they are somewhat supported?

Do you mean it is supported, yet that it might glitch or freeze?
@DeWayfarer where did you see an estimate that they are somewhat supported? I only see one sentence about them and that's "Reels from Facebook aren't supported".

@NerdyPotato just to say
If you can find the same Reel on Instagram, use the Instagram link instead.
Means it must be supported a little bit. Because of the "if"!

More or less saying, if you can not go ahead and attempt it.
@DeWayfarer Instagram reels are fully supported yes. Facebook reels are not at all. I don't see what the confusion is about. 🤔

@NerdyPotato then he should not say
the Instagram link [c=000000]instead[/c].
Meaning there is a choice.
@DeWayfarer why not? If you find a reel on Facebook and can't include that here, you'll need to find a similar reel on Instagram (instead).

@DeWayfarer I'm happy to be corrected if my sentence is incorrectly expressed, but the usage of "instead" seems to be correct there, I believe.
instead

: as a substitute or equivalent
was going to write but called instead

Example Sentences
I was offered a ride, but I chose to walk instead.
@Nuno yes! There was a choice.

Yet if there isn't a choice and you can not use it. There actually is a choice in that definition. A person can either "ride" or "walk".

Can a fish "walk" or "swim" ? 🤷🏻‍♂️
Where is the choice there? Or are you going to put legs on the fish or not? 🤷🏻‍♂️
@DeWayfarer I just realized, perhaps the confusion is in "the same Reel on Instagram". Does it make more sense to you to say "an Instagram Reel showing the same content" because it's not actual the Facebook reel shared on Instagram but two reels from the same source video?
