Should SW get rid of private messaging?

Would this improve the feeds?
Or are most people here primarily using messaging while here?
I mean…this can’t be everything this site has to offer, can it?

@Ghostinthemachine if they had never introduced them...no they aren't.
But I talk to folk in PMs about things we'd never mention on open forum
And while I have certain trusted peoples e-mails their end would mean the end of chats with at least one person who won't entertain giving me hers.
I seriously doubt the presence of PMs in any way affects the feed.
Which I continue to have no problem with.
Every forum I'm on..and there a few- have PMs.
