Do you get stupid messages like this too?

No but I do get quite a few like this:

Beats me what I am supposed to say in response. I have tried just saying hi in return and that often just gets another equally short and meaningless response. So sometimes I try explaining that in asynchronous messages it is important anticipate what the other side might be interested in or at least give them something that they can say something about. This often results in no further messages or another laconic non-message.

Happily, that would be a negative.
