Why do you sometimes get messages and sometimes requests?

I'm still new here and don't understand why some messages don't appear in the inbox and are displayed as requests instead of it. What does that mean?

Is it possible that SW filters messages from users automatically who are suspect in some way? 🤔

@Linus Yeah, I think there's some repeat offenders that end up in that box from the get go.

It can be an indicator of how much you have interacted with the person and/or how suspicious sw is of someone
