Sending a Photo of Myself to a Complete Stranger Online - Not Happening!

I just joined 'Similar Worlds' literally a few minutes ago, and I've already received a request from someone (I don't know the person, he's a complete stranger) for a photo. Er... excuse me? Do I know you? Are we friends? No.
Why do people do this?

Change your inbix settings to friends only and it will stop

@NinaTina I don't have any friends yet though. It's okay, I'll just refuse (and I did). If someone becomes a pest though, I'll just block them.

@Bellatrix2083 She means there are ways to filter messages out... I have mine set to friends only, nobody below a certain age, etc... But your way works too. I might suggest (sadly) the pfp may kinda invite unwanted messages?
