This is silly. "They" haven't taken away anything; people individually fell for the hype (ex. around streaming) and made the decision - their FREE decision - to abandon DVD's, tapes, and all the rest. I still use USB sticks, I still buy DVD's, I still use cash. We all have a choice, we don't have to go along with anyone's agenda (assuming there even is one).

@DLight The word may be childish to use, I can see that. But there will not always be ways to get what you want, that's just not true. They have already discontinued physical sales of many video games and TV-series, and even books. Recently a lot of books were in fact destroyed in the process of uploading them to an online library, in an effort to "preserve them". The world is moving towards digital only goods, so of course right now you can still get a lot physical goods (but far from everything) and eventually they'll stop producing them at all. That is not a childish doomsday notion, that's just a fact. There are already many things I cannot buy physically, such as specific video games. Perhaps you cannot imagine it, but nonetheless this is already becoming the norm. /=

If you use Apple products, you did it to yourself. 😅 Like...there are other options.
But I'm pissed off about them removing the audio jack because that happened to all brands. 😠
Who took away seeds? They are normally sold here every spring. For those who don't want them from seeds, they sell seedlings. Moreover, if you tried to grow fruits from seeds you bought in a supermarket, in many species the plant growing from it would bear terrible fruits or the tree would take many years to actually mature enough to grow fruits. Most of the time you need grafts.

@CrazyMusicLover I heard that in some states of America they don't want to sell people seeds anymore, not even for growing vegetables in the backyard. 👀

@Nightwings That is insane. How do they excuse that?

@CrazyMusicLover I honestly just saw people mention it here and there online, so I don't even know how true it is, or if there's some misunderstanding regarding it... 😅

She is spot on but I like my seedless watermelon.
There's some printer company that won't let you print without a subscription even though you already have the printer and ink.
There's cars with heating coils in the seats and buttons on the dashboard to control them, both of which are yours as they are part of the car you bought. But guess what? The controls don't work without a subscription.
You know how people are so afraid of socialism because "you'll own nothing and will be happy about it"? I've got some news for them...

@NerdyPotato that thing about the heated seats always made me laugh because I can get a 4 or port extension for the cigarette lighter 12v so that I can plug more shit in and then just buy a heating seat pad and plug it into the Cigarette lighter and not have to pay for any subscription to anything.

Consumerism is out of control. 😐 But for real though, why are we so comfortable with not owning anything? Actually I'm not comfortable with it at all because I'm the type of person who loves collecting lol, but why is this so normal now, how is everyone just okay with it? 😩

There are some videos on YouTube that tell you all the old ways people used to garden, and how they built their homes before modern products that we now depend on and pay for were around.
