When I see old friends instagram accounts

And I realize they’re all living their best life, going to birthday parties, traveling, eating out with friends, posting beach pictures, outfit checks, family gatherings, friends get together, mountain getaways , and other stuff, and you’re not doing any of that. It feels like you’re stuck. Not to say that they all exhale self-confidence to put themselves out there like that, and post selfies all the time. It makes me wonder if I’m the weird one ( I know I am ) .

Some people need to have active lives, always around friends or family or out doing something. Some of us prefer another life of spending time at home in quiet contemplation or doing the things we love to do that don't involve other people. Never compare your life to others. Always ask yourself, "Am I happy with the life I have?" If the answer is 'yes' then there is nothing to worry about. If the answer is 'no', then look at the particulars in your life that you don't like and ask yourself how you can change it.
I wanna hug you. You’re not weird. We're just seeing everyone’s highlight reel while living our behind the scenes. That comparison trap is brutal, but it doesn’t mean we're stuck, it just means our life looks quieter right now. Growth isn’t always loud or visible. 🫂💕

I'm so glad I see almost none of that anywhere. Facebook is a ghost town. Barely anyone posts there anything and I only have one girl on Instagram that I met for the first time last year.

Sometimes I see someone I have on FB posting their photos from vacation but none of those were my old friends. It seems like we learned to keep our lives private or people I knew left for other social media.

After all, even I only post on here where nobody from my real life can see me.

Peoples lives are typically never how they show it off on social media. Spend a day with any of them in real life & you'd probably see how much of it is just for show.

If I go out to a restaurant I never think "oh let me take a picture of where I'm at & what I'm doing" but there's lots of people who will do that because it makes them feel like people will find their lives interesting.

(Sorry I initially gave the wrong react to this post btw)

I think that stuff can become an ego trip. It's performative. It's cool to share, but nobody is without flaws and troubles.

Just remember that it’s a curated view of their lives.

This illusion that everyone's doing better than you is exactly why people say social media is a poison.
