I just got blocked by someone called "The Duchess Of Maple Syrup" because I made a joke about his/her misspelling of vinaigrette. Now I can't read the childish insult he/she posted before saving me from his/her future dumb posts.

Thank you asking Art! ... apologies, I sometimes use colloquialisms from sports.
In baseball, when kids swing and miss ... we congratulate them for swinging ... and tell them to stay "at bat" ... and "do it again" ... thus, the "do over" label.
In friendships we frequently use the same "do it again" ... when we miss the first time.
Thus we get an almost infinite number of "do overs"
Did that explanation help?
* Am still trying to convince myself that English is my 1st language.
@questionWeaver: The explanation doesn't really help in this situation although I do understand what you're saying. Because I'm blocked I can't reply - even if I wanted to offer an apology for making your friend look stupid I can't. Since the "mute button" was introduced that is my favoured course of action if I get fed up with certain people's posts. I make my living from food so I do take it seriously!
