I Have Been ' Blocked '

I often get blocked by christians who can't handle the truth and who particularly hate the fact that I used to be a christian but managed to escape. :)

@Notanymore Sounds like you need to get some sleep.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@suzie1960 nah.....just not impressed with edginess anymore. Especially "escaping" a religion that touts free will and choice above most things. And attacking others belief systems to make yourself feel smarter
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore Which religion is that? It's definitely not christianity, that only claim to allow free will, it doesn't permit its victims to exercise it.

If you really think you have free will, you could exercise it and opt to not read opinions you disagree with.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@suzie1960 i don't agree or disagree....I'm not really christian or not, but I am simply amused by those who live to antagonize those who choose to have faith. And carry a picture of an inverted cross like you know what it means. Maybe christians wouldn't be so opposed to you if you didn't go looking for a fight
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore I'm amused by christians too. They way they try to antagonize non christians, especially Atheists, is really funny.

I use the inverted cross because I escaped from christianity after studying it and finding it was just one big deception. If christians don't like it, tough. Many of us don't like they way they try to force their beliefs on to others and wave their crosses around but they expect us to put up with it. What was that you were saying about free will?

I'm not looking for a fight, I'm just stating my opinion. I know christians don't like anyone expressing an opinion contrary to their own but I won't let that stop me. Nor will I stand idly by while they try to ensnare others like I was once caught. If people want to believe in a magical man-in-the-sky they're free to do so but it should be an informed decision, not one based on lies.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@suzie1960 who has attempted to force you to believe in christ
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore Several different christians at various times. For example, when I first tried to break away from christianity the other tried to coerce me "back into the fold". When that didn't work I was subjected to threats and physical violence. All that did was further convince me I'd made the right decision.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@suzie1960 that has to be the strangest of christian churches I've ever heard of....when I tell my believing friends my viewpoints they generally just offer to pray for me or say God loves you anyway. Are you in the US?

Also about the inverted cross: that's traditionally a symble of st peter andhis humility and request to ve crucified upside down due to not being worthy of dying in the same manner as Jesus. It's fairly revered mostly in Catholicism.....aside from the uneducated use by death metal bands and edgy teens it's really a christian symbol.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore I'm in the UK. As I said, they tried coercing me at first and their attempts included praying for me (or should that be preying on me?).

I know about the story of Pete being crucified upside down but the cross was originally a Pagan symbol. It was hijacked by christians, much like almost everything else now associated with christianity. JC was nailed to a tree, not a cross (Acts 10:39) although modern translations of the bible say "cross" to fit the popular idea.

The inverted cross is commonly used by Satanists and others to symbolize a rejection of christianity.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
Preying on you? How threatening are the roving gangs of christians?

True that there isn't a great description of the shape of the cross that jesus was crucified on though the romans did use tge shape that we're familiar with and others....and yes civilzations as far back as history have used tgat shape.

And as far as satanist go....most of everything about the church of satan is sad goofy people trying to be edgy.....not really relevant in a serios religious discussion
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore Preying as in bombarding people with their offensive literature and accosting them in public. Some of them can be very threatening.

The whole idea of Jesus being crucified was copied form Odinism. Odin was sacrificed on the Yggdrasil Tree and went into the Earth. There he gains the knowledge of the Runes before being resurrected.

Some christians claim that the story of Odin was copied from christianity but this is highly unlikely. There is a similar story about Hera in Greek mythology that definitely predates christianity.

What do you mean by "sad goofy people trying to be edgy"? Is that your best argument against Satanism? Have you actually met any Satanists? Those I've met are very well educated.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
I've hung out with Satanist....with the exception of some of the girls being kinda cute.....wasn't very profound or interesting. The entire idea of satanism was a cultish action in the recent century to convice people to pay money and live a life of self fulfilment. It very much is a simple ruse.

Speaking as a non bible thumper....I'm not arguing for or against believing in god or christ.....and there's definitely parrallels is a lot of culture's creation.....but most of the parallels that are highlighted in zeitgeist literature are simple lies or misinterpreted at best.

I'm not from the uk so I can't compare what I've seen personally, but I do know that the christian religion teaches tolerance and free will above all things....i believe that anyone using force or threats is probably chasing an agenda aside from saving any souls.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore You're wrong about christianity teaching tolerance, it's one of the least tolerant religions of all. Just look at some of the evangelical posts on this site.

I don't know what sort of Satanists you hung out with but they don't sound anything those I met. Maybe those you know aren't real Satanists.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@suzie1960 explain to me if you will please what a "real" Satanist is?

And I understand a distaste for some evangelical assholes....but if you pay a bit of attention...those usually have an agenda that supercedes their beliefs....they aren't selling Christ as a redeemer....they use christ to sell their own goals.

As far as this site.....I can only tbink on onee lady that attempts to share gospel for the sake of gospel......and even though I'm not a beleiver, I've have a few plesant conversations with her
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore It's not for me to define a "real Satanist". I was just doing what christians do when I point out I used to be a christian. They just can't accept that a christian could "fall away from 'god' and become an Atheist" so they try to claim that I could not have been a "real christian". I would have been real enough when they want to boast about how big their religion is with all its followers.

The evangelicals are just trying to trap people for various reasons. I think I know who you're referring to. She seems to spend all her time posting christian propaganda and misinformation. She doesn't show much grace to anyone who dares disagree with her. She's not the only only though, there are several others just as bad. On claims to be a lot younger than he is, possibly to try to trap children.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
Maybe you come off as offensive to anyone that is faithful off the bat and draw the negative opinions to yourself with you atleast equally misguided condemnations and faulty "research".
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore The christians who are offensive towards me, are also offensive towards others who fail to share their beliefs and bow down to their "god". They are the common factor, not I. My arguments are based in logic, I don't have to resort to childish insults as some of those christians do.

Why did you even bother commenting on my post? Your very first post here revealed a complete lack of interest.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
Because my first impression of tou was a middle aged woman trying to be edgy.....insulting harrassing and generalizing an entire group of people with no basis.

Leave that to the college kids who don't know any better than to think they're smarter than everyone simply because of their opinions
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore What do you mean by "edgy"? It's a word you seem to like using but doesn't appear to have any meaning in context. My post referred specifically to the actions of a particular group, I was not generalizing.

My age is irrelevant although I'm older than you. At least those college kid you so readily dismiss don't have imaginary magical friends.

If you don't like what I have to say, you're free to ignore me.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@suzie1960 haha....yes you are generalizing and attacking an entire group based upon assumed atrocities cerain members of said group have dealt unto you. Youve attacked people with know basis and i really enjoy. Calling you out on your bullshit.

Flying the upside down cross is being edgy and it amuses me so I use the word because it fits.....the funny thing is about indoctrinated college kids is that once they gwt in the real world and out of their self righteous delusions they usually quit being pricks just for the sake of acting smarter than others.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Notanymore OK, you've made it clear you're only here to act the fool. I must say you're doing a very good job of it. You're not calling me out on anything, you're just making yourself look foolish.

You still haven't explained what you mean by "edgy". Do you even know the meaning of words you like to use?

If you actually bothered to read my opening post you would see that it refers to a specific subset of christians, but that doesn't fit your agenda.
