I Have Been ' Blocked '

Being blocked is awesome. Just when you’re having a conversation where you disagree with someone, and then you suddenly get blocked, it’s like being told... “Ok, you win. I realise I can’t win and you’ll keep making better comments than me so my only option is to block you.” Love it.

In my opinion, blocking is a form of aggression. Disagreement does not call for thst form of behavior. That is taking it too personally!!

@Petals Completely agree. Should be used for abuse or harrassment only in my opinion.

The problem isn’t the system, it’s the person. Give someone the option to block and they may abuse it, it’s human nature. Not everyone will of course, many people will use it sensibly, and some like me have never blocked anyone (literally never felt the need to). But there will always be some people who will abuse something like a block button. Probably why so many people argue for stricter gun laws.....@Petals

@sleepyhead How do you abuse the Block button? That's ridiculous. For me, it's self-preservation. Akin to leaving the room and getting away from someone.

@CoffeeFirst I agree - I don't want to see nasty comments from obvious trolls in my feed. I don't block many people but sometimes it's the better option.

@RoadieJay There is so much I don't want to see in my feed, I'm with you. And if someone sends sketchy messages, well, what else am I supposed to do?

@Petals I think the "a form of aggression" comment has more to do with the blockee's feelings (because it can be kind of a shock) than the blocker's intent.
