what should you do when you get facebook friend suggestions

i regularly get facebook friend suggestion on my iphone, i don't exactly know what it means...just random people on facebook being used as friend suggestions? but i never send them a friend request because i don't know these people...most of them are female and i know in this day and age it would be seen as weird to send someone you don't know a friends request?

That's not the case for Asian people, especially in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc.. People send friend requests to anyone they see on Facebook, regardless they know them or not.
