@class Yes, until they cross that boundary. I've had a problem setting them before, as my mother used to cross them all the time (ie read my diary etc)... I didn't know what they even were but I'm getting better at setting them and standing firm on them. It's no loss to me to have someone like that out of my life.

@Catastrophe the main thing is staying true to yourself and accepting improvement. it really depends on the persons understanding of it all to start with though. my mother tried guessing my password, she looked concerned, but after a while she began copying me and disregarding respect.
