A Futile Search

It's been over a decade, but my old EP friend is on my mind today. One of his usernames was ninjagaiden321.
I know I'll never find him again, but today I feel like looking...
spjennifer · 61-69, T
Know what you mean, I had a friend I chatted with for hours at a time almost every day over several years, not on here but on another site, one day they just up and disappeared, no trace, no response, ever, sad but it happens... 😢

@spjennifer
I do the same, and like you, I get no response.
I’m Sorry we are both in the same boat. I guess it’s a consequence of online friendships.
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@arwyvern Indeed it is, I know I grew to care about that person and their life, which had a lot in common with mine. Not knowing what happened to them at all is what hurts the most as that was some of the charm of our communications, no risk for either of us but it was fun while it lasted.

@spjennifer
Yes, and I’m sorry you lost touch so abruptly. It’s like a sort of bereavement in a way. You never get closure, and are left wondering why it all stopped so suddenly. Especially when you thought things were so great.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Just suggesting the obvious, yet have you done a people search on just "ninja" on here? There's a full page of results BTW.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@DarkAngel24 if you just use "ninja" you'll get other combinations, before or afterwards. Then you can narrow it down by age because it does give age groups. Exclude of course any women or out of your age range.

Once you have done that look at their profiles (posts, photos if any, aboutme, groups and so forth) to see if anyone fits.

HTH!

@DeWayfarer Thanks, I appreciate it!
onionsonyourburger · 31-35, M
@DarkAngel24 Do you remember any others?

Most of my friends moved over to WhatsApp.

I lost in touch with them one by one.

Only one of them left.
DarkAngel24 · 26-30
@SW-User I know the feeling. Sorry to hear it.

@DarkAngel24 it's ok.

It's part of growing old.

People come, People leave.

Have you googled? I don’t know how recently he used them, but his username search shows he’s on deviant art and tumbler
DarkAngel24 · 26-30
@whisperingwillow Shockingly, I never even considered it. Thank you!
placelessboy · 22-25, M
Sometimes I only get on here to try to find my old EP peeps, unfortunately I never sucseeded
DarkAngel24 · 26-30
@placelessboy So many good friends lost to time. It can be difficult.
I remember you, DarkAngel. I went by bold timer. (Without the space.) I was on EP for a long time. Met and chatted with many people there. Could work out problems and get help from people there who had been thru the same things. Had one younger women and got way too involved. Online only. Got in a mess with her and never really got it resolved.
Lost so many seriously good friends when EP died.
Similar Worlds does great as a replacement but never get those times back.

Got a couple I wouldn't mind hearing from again, as well!

It's been a decade.. so you were on here when you were 12?
SW-User
@DeWayfarer OK no worries.
DarkAngel24 · 26-30
@SW-User I was on EP when I was about 14-17. I did talk to older people and was definitely being groomed by an older man, but the friend that my posts are about was my age.

You can search for him using a username search engine called whatsmyname.app maybe you'd find him
caplancee · 46-50, M
Yes I lost a friend when EP closed down too. More than a friend, actually.

Orchid19, where are you?!?!
arwyvern · 61-69, M
I too have been looking for an old EP friend. Sad when our searches are to no avail.
