It's all in my head [I Love Creating Groups For My Ep Friends]
That's what I've realized yesterday.
So I was at work, end of the day and a co-worker dared to reprimand my work. My first instinct was to argue back, it felt like he was pulling my leg, so I needed to stand up for myself, but then I decided not to do that, but instead to do the opposite and use one of those techniques that police uses to interview suspects. I've watched hours of interviews with murderers and other felons, and the common technique I saw being used, was encouraging the suspect's good side out. Talking to them as if they are innocent and trying to get to their humane side and get them to regret their wrong doings and to confess, because they are good people.
So that is what I did with my co-worker, instead of arguing with them, I said "you are a good person (his name), because you care", and then he started giving me some pointers. Not that I needed them, but I stood there in silence and listened to whatever he had to say.
And later when I was going home,I passed by him,and he started singing "Dan is my best friend 馃幎". In my mind I was like: wtf. But instead, I said "Yes (his name). Yes." And said bye and left.
Today as I am reflecting on that situation, it makes me realize that maybe every time I think somebody is trying to be confrontantional, maybe they aren't trying that, and I am just taking it too close to heart and it is just me. Maybe it is all in my head, and I need to find a way to loosen up.
