Why do People feel the need to be fake [I Dont Know Why Some People On EP Are Having Fake Profiles]

I will talk to anyone about anything and appreciate that the anonymity afforded by this site enables people to be themselves but why do people send fake pictures when you ask for a picture of them. Better to be honest and say I prefer to stay anonymous.

I don't get this. I don't get this whole scene. Why does it take anonymity to be yourself. Makes no sense to me. So the rest the time they are fake and false?
