I never wish good luck to people. I wish there was another good will saying that is just as good, but this language is limited. I usually just say best wishes.
And the reason behind it is that I am very lucky myself, from the day I was born, and when I was a child my mom would say don't let anyone eat out of your lap (like if u had a bowl of popcorn in your lap), because they're eating your luck. I know, sounds stupid, but now I don't even wish good luck to people, because I'm afraid I might be giving away out of mine.
Now however, my mom says that the more luck you wish to others, the more you will have, but I don't want to risk it, plus I'm satisfied with the amount I have now, which is plenty.
