Why do members leave "About Me" blank?

I came to Similar Worlds from the now defunct Experience Project. I always check people's profile before adding them as a friend. At EP it was customary to describe onself, where one was from, at least the time zone or country. I assumed that everyone will say something about themselves--but I am shocked that on SW only once have I found any information about somebody by clicking on "About Me" -- I don't understand why someone would join this site, which is to communicate with others, without saying something about themselves and why they are here. Otherwise what is the point? Just mindless ranting? So how about doing all of us, and yourself, a favor by telling something about you.

[c=#BF0080]Because no one actually 'needs' to know anything about me.. it's not a dating site so there's no 'need' for anything. If I get to KNOW someone to the point of me wanting them to know more about me then I'll let them know then. Otherwise, it's nobody's business.[/c]

Beautifully stated.👍
@NigelDoes: [c=#BF0080]Thank you. 🙂
It just irritates me when people act liked they're owed something.. like no if I want you to know something personal about me then I'll tell you. Mine gives you a glimpse at my personality perhaps but that's about it. I don't remember having to put any personal info on ep do you.. all of it was optional I thought.[/c]

I could not possibly agree more, and know it was absolutely not mandatory to include personal information on experience project.

Absolutely, well said.
