I Like Experience Project

I actually loved the place. This place feels nothing like it.

Maybe I just don't know enough about this place yet and how it's supposed to work?

Towards the end of EP I wasn't online that much. But even going there just once in a while, the place still seemed fun. I suppose after having built up so many friendships there it just seemed like there was always someone to talk to or joke around with.

These days I am still not online all that much. Building a ton of friendships up almost feels like a daunting task. Not to mention that if Im not online enough to cultivate those friendships, what would be the point ?

I do miss the old EP. WAY back before they started screwing with everything. The place ran just fine. But I guess membership ballooned beyond what the server could handle so they made change after change after change. It was quite a hassle for the forerunners that's for sure.

But this place just has a whole different feel to it. Not as user friendly or as inviting as EP was on it's worst day.

Anyway, hopefully everyone here doesn't take any of this personally. It's just me whining over the "Good Ole Days". Not trying to put this place down or anything like that. Just kinda rambling out some thoughts and lamentations from my perspective.

I guess it's true what they say...
"You don't really know what you've got, until it's gone."

Be well
Live happy
Die trying

HikingMan, give this place time to grow on you. I was always on EP and missed it when it closed. But I think they've done a great job with this site and consider it superior.

Part of the difference is in how the home feeds were displayed on EP (groups and friends). Here the default is everyone. From your home page (SW logo top left) you can change the feed to different preferences. That might be worth considering to narrow what you see if some of the posts aren't really relevant or interesting to you.

Also consider that as a very new and young site, SW has much fewer members than EP did. There are more options and ways to do things than there were on EP, and of course the site is constantly improving and expanding. Finally, the Administrators and Moderators are really hands on and involved here, unlike just a robot EPAllie handling things on EP. Bottom line, give it time and learn more about the options and hopefully you'll come to like it here even more than you did EP.

That could very well prove to be true. Time will tell. And, until death comes to take me, time is one thing I have a little extra of
