I Want to Improve the Experience Project

Change.... I live in a world where marketing drives the ship. I completely understand that attracting new users and keeping the one's you have active is the driving force behind any change that is made. Follow the dollar.....I get it and make my living doing it.

Sooo.....also in my world is retaining the customers you have. They are exposed to the ads that are posted here just as much as new users. I don't see how some of the drastic changes that would have no effect on drawing in new users but manage to piss off the existing users to the point of not wanting to stay has any value. Stuffing the gestures onto the WB....altering the mobile view.....uggggg. Making confessions almost impossible to get to....changing how to add new eperiences to the point where if you don't do it once a week you have lost touch with how to do it at all. I have been here for years and struggled through the damn groups screen for 10 min and still wasn't sure I had created a group.

Focus on what will bring new members. You need them to get new advertisers and keep the ones you have. I get that. It pays for my dinner every night. Just focus on the changes needed to draw in new members rather than change just for the sake of change. I don't get much of the logic in why most the changes are made. New looks....new gestures....new arrangements I get and are needed...but changing the raw function of how we interact here does no more than piss off existing users.

Good story. I and other people have noticed important features being removed. That's the main thing I'm concerned about. But there have been other changes, involving changing something rather than removing it, that I disagree with. It can seem like they're doing everything they can to make the site difficult. Some other people in this group have felt that way. The site has become basically un-user-friendly.

Yes, they need to be concerned about retaining existing members as well as attracting new people. They should be trying to make the site likeable.
