I Want to Improve the Experience Project

EP, Don't Pull the Plug on Blogs Because...

There has not been adequate notification. You could have sent email notification, but you didn't. You could have sent a personal message about the imminent shutdown to every member, but you didn't. You could have posted huge signs all over the site about this deadline, but you didn't. All you did was post a sign at people's own blogs. MANY people missed that. Many people were away from EP or not tending to their blogs lately. Many people I notified had heard nothing about it! Life can make one busy! Lately I've been preoccupied with fighting scabies. It is only by ACCIDENT that I discovered about the shutdown coming. You should not punish the people who missed that!

If you do go ahead with the execution of blogs, you should save people's blogs so that they can receive the file upon request.

That's true. It is ideal that they email the members. This is not like the Confessions. Some of those blog posts are considered important to a member. I, myself, have taken the liberty of copying and pasting a blog of another member because she hasn't logged in yet.
Good on you for doing that.

Wait,i did not get any notification about the blogs being removed, well there went all mine with no notice, where was this posted they were going to remove them?
flowergurl90
Okay, well too late to see that now since it is gone, like everyone here checks their blogs every day,not a smart way to handle that EP,good job!
flowergurl90
it isn't to me
Maybe they've paid attention to this story?

Please rethink the whole idea of killing blogs. If you won't, then please postpone it till everybody has received double email notification, and keep backups of people's blogs as Gentle153 suggested.
They carried out the evil deed. Our feelings be damned.

It so sad for those of us who remember the days when EP cared about pleasing its members and building a better website.
