Don't Take Away Right To See Posts of Blocked Members

There has been some clamor for EP to make it impossible for people to see any of the content of people whom they have blocked. I oppose this.

1. I do not want somebody I block to be able to slander me all over this website and have me unable to know about it or see what he is saying or flag any violation of EP's Guidelines.

2. I want the option to be able to read things written by people I have blocked, for amusement, or to get a better grasp of their viewpoint, or for many other reasons.

3. Friends of mine might engage in debates on stories of people whom I have blocked. I might want to see those exchanges.

4. Hiding posts of people whom I have blocked will make some threads less coherent when I read them.

If people want to hide the posts of others whom they have blocked as an OPTION, that's fine with me. But please don't force those people's preference on me.

Blocking a member is one way to end communication and interaction with that individual. Members have been requesting the option to hide their content as well, but this does not mean that personal attacks will be tolerated on EP. As a violation of EP community guidelines we ask community members to flag the behavior so it can be quickly address and the content and/or member removed immediately.

Thank you for commenting, EPArsineh. I hope that you will take into account the 4 reasons I have given for any possible future hiding of blocked members' content being optional rather than mandatory. Some have been requesting this hiding, but many more of us are not requesting it or desiring it. So if the former are obliged we hope that it will not be at the latter's expense.

I think that is ridiculous.
If someone is slandering me, they aren't important to me. Just because they are slandering you and you don't know about it doesn't mean other people won't flag it if it's offensive.
Blocking people should end all communication and interaction between people on the internet. Therefore, I DO NOT want to see the idiotic posts of people I block showing up all over EP.

Additionally, don't block access to our messages received from those we have blocked and who may have blocked us. We don't just block perverts and the offensive, sometimes we block those we love, and those messages are special, but we can no longer read them.
