what's the best way to respond to someone insulting you about a typo fault

usually my grammar and spelling is quite good, i never went on to higher education long ago, but i am intelligent and still have good command of my native language; English, and usually my grammar and spelling is spot on.

but recently i left a comment on a video about Tolkien, just someone i'm subscribed to who uploads videos about Tolkien and LOTR and gives a philosophical slant on his works, anyhow, my comment got 40 thumbs up, which i was pleased about, as it was obviously liked and popular.......but someone, looks like some 'idiot' has replied to my comment and insulted me about a minor typo mistake?

and i feel angry about it and usually when someone insults me and i feel angry, i can't think of clever responses on the spur of the moment?

so what can i say or comeback with you think?

I wouldn't come back with anything. Their insult doesn't deserve a response. Their having a problem with your typo is THEIR problem. All they're doing is showing you how petty and judgmental they are. So, you've learned something about them.

As Jean Cocteau once said, “Never argue with an idiot, because being an intelligent man, you will argue with them on their level, and, on their level, they’ll beat you every time.”

Count your blessings you're not that person or have the kind of behavior they do. And, don't let this one person's problem he has with himself cancel out all the thumbs up you got from other people.

You're doing just fine. 👍

@PhoenixPhail hey thanks for that, i always always value constructive assistance and that's what i was after here and thanks, and yes, i know i'm doing brilliantly. and with respect, the sad emoji on my post was unnecessary, what was that about? nothing sad about it, and i never felt like that.
@durinsBane1983 Well... the sad emoji was a touch of empathy. I know how it feels to get that unexpected punch from someone, even when it's someone who's got a problem with himself. But, you don't have to feel that anymore. You're as free from someone else's reaction as you always were. Even better, you've got lots of people on your side.

Enjoy it. 😊
