do you sometimes feel hesitant or nervous about reading people's replies or opinions to you online

i do at times online, so it will take a while for me to read my replies/ notifications on websites, and i'll feel like i have to prepare myself for it, just because i take things to heart...so if i get unfavorable comments or opinions, a negative comment or opinions or comments that i think are ' not true', i can get really offended and feel really enraged with that person online....and i have lost my temper with people online in the distant past over a comment that was addressed to me.

so now, because i easily get offended, it takes a while to check my replies or notifications to prepare myself for whatever might be said to me.

what do you think about that?

I'm a bit like you, and in fact I still didn't have the courage to check the comments/reactions to an apology thread I wrote on another website (I've written about this on one of my posts).
I can get annoyed or offended if I care about a particular user. If a troll insults me, I don't take it personally because I've developed thick skin towards people like that, thanks to my previous experience on the other website.
So, yes... I tend to be like you if I really care about the other users, but comments/insults made by trolls or strangers don't touch me at all.

@dareme thankyou for relating to me, i appreciated it and really appreciated your perspective and points of view on this...i think what you said about ' people you care about', it resonated, because i think it's understandable to feel upset if it's someone you cared about said something to hurt your feelings, it's human nature. thanks again and all the best for the new year.

@durinsBane1983 Thank you for the BC and have a happy 2026, you too! I think it's a bit like the real life, where we usually care only about people who mean something to us whilst we tend to ignore strangers...
