people online being 'familiar' when they don't know you

i sometimes have this issue online, where someone is a bit too familiar with me when i don't know them and they do not know me....a situation where someone will address me as if they know me? i take offence at situations like that, i do take offence easily.

how should you respond to someone who you think is being too familiar?

sorry ya take offense.. it seems when ya can hide behind a screen and us a fake name it makes it easier to do.. see even i do .. no offense meant. we did not have this as kids so its a new world to us.. best to ya
