when you get someone who gives you a stupid comment on here, how should you respond

to your posts i mean? i at times get stupid responses/comments from people on here and i feel like i have to be really careful in responding to them, be extra careful in what i comment back because i don't want to get in any trouble for being provoked into slagging them off or cursing them, which is very tempting...often times i don't respond but just block em and delete their dickish comment.................is that the best thing to do?
