if someone online thinks false things about you

how should you react to that? someone has beliefs about you which aren't true? how should you react to this circumstance?

i've had this a few times in the years i've been online and i told the person ' it wasn't true' but they still held the belief, so i blocked them then forgot about them.

Block and forget, you said it, can't change how people think, be the better person and move on, after smearing them a bit if you like, let off some steam, and get the record straight.
