I miss chat rooms
You could actually meet real people.
You could also meet a bunch of fake people.
But at least they weren't the way people are today.
Chat rooms have been replaced by Discord and Twitch, which are terrible ways to communicate with other people, if you want to be genuine.
On Discord, we have to waste time selecting some "role" that doesn't actually matter, just to earn the "privilege" to talk to a bunch of random strangers. And every time I've put up with that crap.... no one is even talking about the topic of the sever!
Why am I having to jump through all these hoops just to have the chance of talking to people, especially those that I don't even know?
When you went to a chat room, you would enter your username and IF YOU WANTED TO, you could sign up... otherwise you're just in. That's it. Pick an available name and you can chat. How has this been lost?
