Busy mind is no fun when needing to sleep. I end up writing until I can’t see and then finally I’ll sleep.

@Chusmon07 I was waking up every couple of hours, sometimes able to go back to sleep sometimes it would take a while. If I couldn’t go back to sleep is when I would get my iPad and start writing until I could feel myself needing to go back to sleep, sometimes that would take 2 or more hours. I was finally able to get my doctor to listen to me and he put me on a medication that helps me sleep through the night. It is helping a lot. He hopes after a couple months I can get off of it and see if I sleep normally again. I don’t drink coffee and I restrict my tea intake.

@Luckylu Yeah I know what you mean. I had a period with similar sleep pattern.
I hope you get back some proper sleep hours.

@Chusmon07 Yes but some people are more sensitive than others. I sleep and nap no matter what I eat or drink or when I eat or drink but my partner must be really strict with his coffee routines of he'll interrupt his night sleep

@Luckylu @Chusmon07 I also wanted to say that my best insomnia life hack is to embrace the night.
Instead of "ugh why can't I sleep? I should sleep I must sleep?" and lay in bed twisting and turning.
I leave the bed the second I'm feeling that I won't be able to fall asleep. And I go drink water , I move to a different room and distract myself with something fun and relaxing. And allow myself to be up.
