how do you handle being provoked online

like there's times when i'm on youtube and someone replies to my comment with an insult or says something i get offended by, and i feel the urge to threaten them, but i hold back because i know you can get in trouble for typing threatening posts...so what's another way to deal with someone provoking you or offending you online?

Be a grown-up and ignore them. (Practise what I preach, not what I always do lol!!!).

In an ideal world I would much rather see some online etiquette of how to interact politely, even when there are disagreements. Sadly, it ain't gonna happen any time soon.

Remember the old childhood saying: "Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me!"
