Anonymous online chat is fascinating

I love the freedom that comes with anonymity. takes away any reason to lie and you can truly express yourself in a safe environment. If someone expresses themselves in a way that could do harm, the recipient can easily block them. I would hope there wouldn’t be any harassment here. Just healthy discussion without inhibition.

Am i too optimistic?

Sounds like exactly how I've thought of online chat for years.
While there are those who are full of shit, there's plenty who are honest because it's anonymous, for the reasons you've given.
