I Love Chatting Online

I am new to this. I will try to keep this brief. First off I am 39. Will be 40 in October. I am finding as I get older, it is harder for me to be social. The people I work with are alright, but not someone I would want to be friends with and have been told I am not fun to be around. That is what someone told me and I am really starting to believe it. Either way my focus has been my job and doing it well. I am beginning to understand I am not there to make friends anyways, am I right for thinking this?

The one thing missing in my life is close friends close to me. All my really close ones live far away and can only be reached by phone or text. It annoys me that I have no one I can do things with or have similar interests. It drives me insane to be alone all the time. Not sure what to do or how to approach this.
