This site isn't advertised for friendship. Everyone is here for different reasons. Your pm was a bit full on. Blocking was probably a bit extreme but everyone uses this site in different ways, how someone blocks is up to them.
@ExplorerofInfiniteSpaces ok but I don't think they have changed that much. I said "probably " extreme. You asked for an opinion so I gave you one. Some people may not want to pm you saying "I don't want to be your friend " because it might lead to more questions from the other person.
I guess blocking is the SW way to say "I do not want to be your friend!" 😑😬
But seriously I think you were way too friendly, that would raise red flags for me... No different than in "real life", if some random guy comes to me and say, for example, "you have a nice shirt, I want to be your friend. Please check my shirt too!"... I'd be TOTALLY freaked out... 😐️
@Miram Well I'm in Canada and we're very friendly too (some parts of canada are friendlier than others though)... But no one comes to other people saying "I want to be your friend!"... Friendship should evolve naturally out of informal conversations and feeling at ease with each other... idk... maybe we Canadians are more subtle and reserved in our friendly ways... 🤔
@drymer I know. Yes, people don't just decide to be your friend without knowing you first. But I think it can be an innocent move. Children do it all the time.
I wouldn’t worry about it mate, people block for all kinds of weird and random reasons here. I dont even do private messaging but sometimes people still block me anyway. Often I’ve absolutely no idea why. It’s no big deal.
