Do you block annoying people right away, after a couple of chances or not at all?

For me, if they're dismissive of me as a person, without consideration, I block. If they cross boundaries I've set, most definitely block. In terms of controversial topics, I won't block if they have a different opinion unless I sense they lack any sympathy/empathy for others. Like they pretend to care about your circumstances but then do something opposite to prove they don't.

I'll usually give the controversial topic people several chances. This has worked well for me, one I was going to block turned out to be somewhat sensible.

It depends. Some people come off as disrespectful but they turn out to be good people just very different from myself. It's up to my intuition in the end.

Mainly I tend to raise red flags when someone disregards mental illness or starts with insults in a disagreeing discussion. I also check their feed history and see if they tend to repeat agressive insulting behaviour as I don't want such energy around my staying here.
@Queendragonfly

Totally not self-aware so they can't understand if they've never struggled with anything in their life and improved. That one person blocked me today. I'm not sad. 🤣

@Angelwarfare I saw he had a very angry last insult last comment to me too before blocking me too 😂
Pretzel · 70-79, M
it normally takes two or three posts
@Pretzel That's pretty fair.

I rarelly block.
Did it once to a one that IMO deserved it (racism and more of that kind).
Muted one cos he was too (really tooooo) boring.
I should do it perhaps more frequently.
But.....I´m not reached by only personal insults, neither find that opposite oppinions are an enough reason and may be also cos being lazy to do it.
@ElRengo 😲 There is a way to mute? lol

@Angelwarfare
Seems that there is as I could!😄

i am block happy, have over 1,000 blocked now and counting! ha ha ha lol.
@Jungleman Wow, that's a lot! There must be a lot of annoying trolls on here. When people who aren't VIP, can only block 500, that's NOT* a good sign. Hopefully you won't block me if you're a decent person. 🙂

Nah ... I`m a good ignorer person.
@Degbeme You seem very lighthearted.

@Angelwarfare I am to a certain extent.

If they're obnoxious, keep talking to me as if it's the first time they've said anything, blocked.

To shut myself up and stop giving them the attention they crave, blocked.

Seems to irritate most people more when I ignore them without blocking.
There are certain things I’ll definitely block immediately , although I might ask a question or two to clarify my interpretation first. People sometimes joke about things I wouldn’t and if I don’t know their sense of humor I might not want to block them if they’re just being sarcastic and don’t actually mean what they’re posting.
@bijouxbroussard Oh good point, I hope I haven't done that. I know I misunderstood a comment once and that person deleted it. Then I felt bad. Sometimes when everything that is coming at me is negative, I assume the worst.

I mute before I block. There are things I just am not interested in seeing all the time. And I will block someone after they blocked me, and I have blocked those who were just plain disrespectful.
I scroll, I don't block. All of the Conservative trolls have blocked me. They don't understand that when they blocked me they did me a favor.
Atlotto · M
I have never used the block or mute features.
@Atlotto I used to be like that but I have no time for certain people now.
I only have one user blocked because she vehemently disregarded all of the facts in rebuttal to her countless prejudiced opinions.
