My First Encounter with Instagram
I'd been putting it off for a long time, trying to decide whether or not to open an account with Instagram, but now I've finally done it.
And I'm confused. I'm trying to figure out how it works (it's very different from 'Similar Worlds'), and to me it just doesn't make all that much sense. I don't think it's user-friendly at all, but maybe that's just because I'm not used to sites like that.
Upon signing up I was sent an email with a five digit code in order to confirm my email address. Well, I typed it out correctly but it kept on rejecting the number, until I finally just copied and pasted it and then it worked. That was really weird, but not too much of an inconvenience.
I enter the site, go straight to the home page, and... just sit there, wondering what to do next. I decided I wanted to see the latest news, so I searched for that. It gave me a short list of news "channels" (is that what you call them on Instagram?), I click on one story, and I get nothing else. There's no story, it's just the headline, like "Trump renames Lake Ontario to Lake America", and that was it. Umm... o.. kaaaaay. 🤔 🤨
I see a comments section on the right-hand side, and comments from others, so of course I have to add my own contribution to this "discussion". I add my comment, and then just stupidly stare at the screen. Is this all there is to it?
Well, what else can I say but, "borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-ing!"
I guess I'll never have to worry about becoming addicted to it, so there is that.
