Ugh, its deader than roadkill

...and has been for a while.

Whats happened to this place?

- supposedly more users than ever,
- This new fangled algorithm,

....and it's a fucking desert

This place used to hum along 🫤

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s really the algorithm or a severe drop-off in users. 🤔

@OlderSometimesWiser I looked through people list and not many there. I think people arent interested in this site to much
@BeachGirl47 I tend to think there just aren’t the number of people cranking out posts like there used to be.

@OlderSometimesWiser I agree. Sometimes wonder if they go to other sites

@OlderSometimesWiser I defo think it's that. It's always the exact same who post and comment every day. Plus I know many who have gone silent or dropped out.
And if I go back and look at some of my old posts there are many 'SW-User' versus an active members name.
I myself am far less active.
@Magenta Lol….. and with Admin giving the same stock answers when questioned about the algorithm I can’t help but think of that classic movie line:

@OlderSometimesWiser prolly both.
One because of the other.

Andrew and Nuno never respond any more.
Reports go unanswered.

I dont get it.

Do they really think if they dont care for something, that itll survive?
@OogieBoogie Well, it’s survived so far. If they really felt fixing the algorithm was the answer and would obviously make so many of their users happy why wouldn’t they do it? I’m not at all computer savvy so wouldn’t know the technical aspects of why or why not. Maybe they can’t fix it. Maybe they know fixing it won’t make any difference. All I know is that there is a severe drop-off in users which may be part of the truth they feel we can’t handle. A lack of traffic which makes fixing the algorithm a moot point.
@OlderSometimesWiser as i understand it, the algorithm was put in place to make SW visible to the Google search engine, thus making SW more visable, (like reddit and quora),
Thus making more people come here and join up

But SW has never been like other chat sites.
It came to be and expanded by word of mouth. By people stumbling acorss it amd falling on love with the uniqueness of it.

Trying to make it mainstream has been counterproductive.

People are here BECAUSE it ISNT mainstream.

I wish they could have seen that that was its beauty.
@OogieBoogie Lol…… I just can’t pretend to know the answer. Thinking more about it is making my head explode. 🤯

Besides, looks like you’ve got some bigger battles to fight over on the religious front. 😳
