I will never understand why people actually have profiles. Somehow, from long ago, I got the idea that profiles where there so people could come and look at your posts, at their leisure, if the wanted to get to know you better. We must have been a bit silly at EP, and other sites before this thing called VP came along to make people feel superior over the plebs who dared to have an interest in what someone else thinks.

@Carissimi It made more sense when stories experiences were differentiated from posts but really what could be on anyones profile nowadays

Maybe they enjoy reading your posts. I know when I was on EP that people whose stories I enjoyed reading, I visited often. I couldn’t read everything at once, and as they kept posting, there would be so much to read. I think social media has taught us to be too paranoid about anyone who looks at us. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be somewhat paranoid because there are a lot of crazies out there, so we need to be vigilant, but the days of no VP, and feeling comfortable browsing profiles for no other reason than finding interesting posts that you enjoy, or relate to, has been lost in thinking everyone who visits our profile a bit more is somehow a creep. Then again, I could be wrong. Maybe they are a creep. Nevertheless, something innocent has been lost in this new (everyone’s a predator) world. Just my two cents. @Miklee02
