It seems a strange move to fire so many Twitter staff so quickly. If the aim was improvement, it should have taken more time to understand how the

organisation works, its often not what is shown on the org chart.

Which makes me think, Elon Musk wasn't 100% willing to buy Twitter in the first place, maybe he settled for the satisfaction of firing all the CEOs and gutting the company and isn't all that interested in improving Twitter

Improvement was never the aim

All he wanted was his own megaphone and Tesla stock price manipulation mechanism

As new Twitter owner, he's already tweeted a link to a fake news site, deleted the tweet, then tweeted again to imply the New York Times article about his first tweet was false or to at least deflect from it
