@Carissimi Yeah, you are right. I am not saying it is the right thing to do just accepting that it exists.
But it is everyones responsibility to verify user authenticity if they are going to engage at an emotional level. I have seen the damage done by the catfish. I have also experienced the joy of new friends that I verified.

I changed my mind. When I think deeply about it, it does matter because it’s dishonest and deceitful. I was thinking of interacting casually with someone on a post, and generally, it’s no skin off my nose if they are acting deceptively because I’m not invested in them, and yet ... I am, we all are if we look at the bigger picture. When/if we find out they are not who they say, we may not be emotionally hurt by them, but another small piece of our faith in humanity breaks off to be replaced with a bit more cynicism and distrust. The more it happens, the more the goodwill in us dissolves, so it does matter in the grand scheme of things. @jim44444

@SimplyMeChantou It’s despicable to lead someone on like that. It does happen in the real world too, like when a married man tells you he’s single. Deceit is deceit, and can be horribly destructive.

@Carissimi thisneprson took thousands from me leading me to believe we were in a relationship, but i was naive and believed their lies and stories as to why they could not video, call or even send me new pics... the amount I sent was never enough, always pretexting they had no roof, no meds, no clothes, had a brain tumor, was without family, parents had supposidly died ... so I sent and sent, until my doubts became too strong and i did somw research and realised that her stories were in fa t her male best friends, her incarceration were actually her male best friend, whom I talked 2 twice cause he needed money for her, once for more food the second for bail her out of jail.. each time i sent money up to 1000$ sometimes, she would diasapear for day on end.

So I realised she was actually her male best friend. When I tried to out her/him out here, no one believed me and she/he treathened me and my children...

Now she/he is still here under many accounts telling her sad stories, somwtimes changing it a bit depending on which account she/he is one and to who they talk.. goes by 2 or 3 different name, again depending if the account and who they talk too. They have a fan club cause ppl theink they are cool.. if only they knrw how dangerous they are... how many death wosh and threaths i had from them after she stole 25k US from me leading me on by lies

I had to delete my old account, they are posting pics of me calling me names,I managed to have 4 of their 7 accounts shut down but the Admin refuse to do further and are lettung her/him scam ppl and im sure thet made more accounts too

This is outrageous that admin does nothing to stop this person. I do not believe in outing people in public except for extreme situations where that person is a danger to others. Have you outed them? I’m sorry this happened to you, and hope that very harsh lesson has been learned. DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANYONE YOU DON’T KNOW PERSONALLY. @SimplyMeChantou

@Carissimi i tried to out them so many times on my other account that I had to shut down... but even she was blocked, her fan bluc went running to them telling on me and then i recieved threat outside here and she posted pics of me here..

I have a few ppl that came foward and said she did ask them money too and that they sent it... idk what she now use for that.. me I had to send in her bestfriends name cause she claim having lost all ID and not being able to get them back.. I noe know all this is a lie and I never send money anymore.. this person killed my trust in anyone

@SimplyMeChantou If you feel comfortable outing them to me in a PM, please do. I have no power to do anything about it, but I’d like to know who the dregs of society are, so I keep away from them.
