What does it mean to pay for a subscription?

Hey! I'm not very new to this, but I have this constant worry it'll be automatically renewed. How can I tell if I'm subscribed to something that is automatic...and one that is not? I searched it up, researched. Some company websites say "subscription" and a "fee", but what if I don't want to always send them money? What if I want to do it a SHORT period of time as in monthly? Even if it's monthly, I want the opportunity to CANCEL before they send CHARGES to my BANK account. How do I know it's not a SCAM or not AUTOMATIC FEE, so if the deadline comes, I don't worry about it charging me? Thank you so much in advance!!!

if it says subscriptions then it most likely will sign u up 4 auto payments on its own. every site ive seen that does subscription based content does have a way to cancel it or opt out of a month. the exacts of how a subscription works though varies slightly from company 2 company, so id try a more refined search about any company u were thinking of setting this up with.
