The first NFL player to win five Superbowl championships was Charles Haley. (Not Tom Brady.)

Superbowls XXIII and XXIV with the 49ers
Superbowls XXVII, XXVIII, and XXX with the Cowboys.

He was a defensive end and linebacker.

I'm pretty sure the first player to win 4 - and there were only 8 Super Bowls played by then - was Marv Fleming. I and II with Green Bay, VII and VIII with Miami. FWIW, I don't count Super Bowls won by any Patriots team since they were known cheaters.
