Are nfl training camps brutal and tough?

Working out in the heat lifting weights doing on field practices with hot weather fighting with other guys for your position to me it siunds probably the toughest part of season for nfl players it's preseason.

They have to get into football shape and compete for a position. It’s been done well over a century now ( organized American Football). They can handle it
