Who is your Euros player of the tournement? [I Love Real Football]

thatscottishguy · 26-30, M
Spinnazola and Pedri in particular have stood out. I understand you saying Sterling bc he has got the goals but honestly I think he's only had one good game overall. Even one or two of the goals he had on a plate for himself and almost managed to fuck them up.

Great player who was on shit form. It's baffling how he's managed to be one of the players of the tournament while being quite shit for a lot of it. For the most part got in great positions then fucked it. Get in them enough though and you're bound to put it in. Or throw yourself and win a penalty but either way.

Anyway I think losing Spinnazola is the biggest loss of the tournament and for me it is him. It's the reason you have a chance on Sunday for me. That and the officials😜. Also Schick deserves a shout. Joint top scorer with Ronaldo. Shame he couldn't quite be Baros but considering less games very impressive.

@thatscottishguy Sterling is good at what he does...and wins games, hence people seeing him as one of the outstanding players. Agreed with Schick, he did have a good tournament in total....

☺️

@SammyJo
Agreed with Schick
He's quite good. He only looked world-class against bad teams.
SammyJo · 51-55, F
@Burnley123 Well....I did say that he had a good Tournament.....you only play against the teams that are there in front of you, right? And he's had a decent run....

Ronaldo? Not this series of games......he's not looked that good against who he's played against - and I do mean consistently - so, Mr S with his bunch of goals...props to him...

A lot of players have stood out as being good, not great...or a great game followed by a stinker.....

Federico Chiesa has played very well when he's been on, as has Lorenzo
Insigne and Gianluigi Donnarumma...three very important players for Italy....either being a fantastic goalkeeper or of attacking movement with the ball...

I've always enjoyed Mason Mount and Luke Shaw.....natch, Kane and Sterling get all the hype, and they are good....but, as has been shown, without getting the ball in the box (by those Mount and Shaw crosses) they'd do pretty much bugger all....

So...there's my bunch from the Italy and England fraternity....

😜

Pedri, in general.

Jorginho and Chiesa for what concerns our NT
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Elessar Honestly, Jorginho is not this good for Chelsea. He is not bad for them but I've never known him to play a run of games at such a high level.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Burnley123 No one in this team is exceptionally good if taken individually, but together they've been rather great so far. Mancini has done a hell of a job in building this NT imo
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Elessar In my opinion too. They play with the cohesion of an elite club side and that almost never happens with international teams.

Chilleni Italian defender

@Nyloncapes As a former centre half, Chiellini was going to get my vote too, though he did miss some games.

Raheem Stirling.

Superb. Made a mockery of all those who said he want good enough for England.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@Burnley123 Begrudgingly (re:the manner of his Liverpool exit), I would probably have to agree with you. He still can't finish , but just about everything else he does on a football field is top drawer.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@RodionRomanovitch That is gracious
SammyJo · 51-55, F
@Burnley123 I wouldn't agree with him being the player of the tournament, but he's good for England....and I've never thought that he shouldn't be in the England squad.

Overrated? No....It's people that define that rather than players, and in that sense he doesn't have the same ego as, say, Ronaldo. I think he knows how good he is at his best...and that's up there with some of the best in Europe.

[c=002673]I would vote for Harry Kane . [/c]
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@valobasa4ever I dunno. I think his performances in the group stage rule him out of contention.
Kjær

How he reacted to Eriksen, leading his team after that and taking them to the semis. Class!
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@InOtterWords Absolutely. Also, his own goal was in no way his fault (I had to explain to my non-football fan friend that it wasn't a mistake, just an impossible situation). He recovered well and wad immense for the rest of the game. A warrior and an honourable man.

When is this over, Burnley?
Human1000 · M
@Burnley123 lol, now I'm genuinely interested.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Human1000 Well, its a big deal because its our dominant national sport and only the second ever major final.
Human1000 · M
@Burnley123 I thought the World Cup took care of all that -- take pity on my ignorance.
