What are your thoughts on the England Euros squad?

It's like Southgate is deliberately trolling all those people who think that he just picks his favourites.

No Henderson, no Maguire or Grealish. He's gone for young players and players on form for their clubs.

I agree with all of those decisions. My one disagreement is that Luke Shaw is the only specialist left back and he has just recovered from injury. Trippier is not the answer at left back because he's 33 and right footed.

This is a pretty strong squad, though France and Germany are favourites.

I think it's fair. Maguire is injured, Grealish and Rashford didn't have good seasons, Henderson is a little in the wilderness. I like the idea of bedding in young players in major tournaments as part of future building too, plus form always has to be a factor. We've turned up to tournaments in the past with a host of our star names and have gone precisely nowhere. The golden generation won nothing. Just going on reputation and same old is not the answer.
