United were always going to be in trouble once Ferguson retired.
The fact they took Ferguson's advice and hired Moyes was a good move but the manner of his departure showed everything wrong with the Glazer ownership and they've struggled to get that winning formula back ever since.

Personally I would have thought they could have done a lot worse than promote from within rather than go looking for a superstar name Manager/Coach.
The traditional way Liverpool did for decades.
At least that way you keep the fans onside.
But as it is i think they're going to struggle for a bit.
Just as Chelsea and Tottenham will
@Picklebobble2 I was always Spurs, although I have withdrawn from the Premiership stuff now. All the razzamazztaz and VAR and money, money, money. But yes, Spurs have kept switching and changing. Arsenal seem to be getting it together by sticking with Arteta.

@pipedreams Spurs are in a mess because Levy is the wrong man to preside over football decisions.
Excellent company Chairman in balancing the books and turning a profit from a loss as he's proven time and again.
But the question from most fans is where are the youngsters that would kill for the chance to wear the shirt ?
Were Ledley King; Kyle Walker and co. really the last of a dying breed ?
Are we finding our homegrown players in the wrong places ?
Who's decisions are recruitment ?
It's a mess
