@Kwek00 It worked great last season too. Burnley's owners worked out that the Belgium league was the same standard as the English Championship but paying lower wages. Also, only the elite players were moving out of the country so there was a lot of undervalued talent. So we can sign a player for 3 million euros who would cost 10 million if he was English. Along with Kompany's coaching , it's the biggest reason why we got promoted.
@Burnley123 Well, you are lucky to have a coach that knows the competition.
How these players going to do in the higher league... I guess we'll see this year. Like I said yesterday, there were some good moments. But you can't really compete with player quality of Man. City. I mean... I think that's just out of a lot of teams leagues even in the Premiere League.
@Kwek00 Absolutely. Though I tipped Arsenal to win the Prem, City has the best team on the planet if everyone is fit. KDB had to go off but their level is in the stratosphere.
The way to judge Burnley is against the lower and middle teams. Its still a high level but that is what we need to get to. I was sad about Zaroury getting sent off because he was one of our better players last season. I'm sure you know but Lyle Foster came from Belgium and I'm not sure he is good enough to be a starting striker at this level. He's quick and skillful but his decision making is poor.
Whether do well or not depends so much on some of these Jupiler League players bridging the gap.
