@JimboSaturn Yes, I was genuinely impressed. To outplay one of the best ten teams in the world has to count as a really good showing. Sometimes teams just don't get what they deserve.

What makes me kind of sad is here in Canada our Soccer and Rugby teams are basically unknown. I was also rather disgusted with the behavior of whatever the local chapter of FIFA is when it came to the Women's team. Part of why our teams particularly the women's team is so unknown is because I know for a fact the branch of FIFA actively undermines them or did as of 2015. We had an event here in town and the women's team was going to make an appearance at my place of work at the time. FIFA did literally fuck all to promote it and seemed determined to bury it. Our city tried promoting the event and were slapped with cease and desist letters and threat of legal action from FIFA for unauthorized promotions.

Second game is a big one for Canada - if they can get something out of that one, then it’ll set them up nicely for a competitive 3rd game 👍
