I never that impressed with Messi
He only looks that good because he play in uncompetitive la liga. He play with other big stars in Barca. He play in the time when defender no longer a beast in the field

La Liga might be uncompetitive but how do you account for his success in the Champions League. As for the quality if defenders just look at how many times Messi has had his legs kicked from under him, then just picks himself up with no histrionics and goes on to score.

@YukikoAmagi that is true but for some reason some skills are more highly rated than others. For example a striker is always paid more than a defender.
