Pretty Good Weekend [I Love Football]

My team - Aberdeen - did well at the weekend, drawing 3-3 with Celtic. With any luck Aberdeen will keep up the good form and maybe even split the Old Firm, the two Glasgow teams that have dominated Scottish football for well over a century.
Onwards and upwards, the Dons!

馃檮C'mon I'm trying not to think about football after the last 3 games. Usually the one place I can avoid anything about our game is on here

@thatscottishguy Close your eyes and think of nice things. Or switch to shinty - Newtonmore are worth watching - or rugby - Scotland won a game on Friday past.

@helensusanswift Wish I could. Spent yesterday absolutely miserable after that game. This season is going to kill me

@thatscottishguy Welcome to the world of Scottish football outside of the Auld Firm! But seriously, it's only a wee dip. As soon as Aberdeen gub you next weekend, you can get back into winning ways.

@helensusanswift I know and win the game in hand and the gap is only 3 points. It's just this season means too much. I can't take the thought of us not getting the 10 now. Oh and funny but Eddie should be back next weekend and you bottle the big occasions.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy We used to. Maybe not this time as Celtic have shown their defensive frailties. Once we get a full team together (that will be a rarity) we will be a match for anybody, I think.

@helensusanswift Aberdeen are looking a lot better but as hard a week as it's been nobody can doubt Celtic's ability to get over the line at this point.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy Well, hopefully they don't. It would be great for Scottish football if a non-Auld-Firm team win a few things. Love it to be Aberdeen, but anybody would do.
thatscottishguy26-30, M
@helensusanswift Don't think it makes a difference really. Back when Killie and St Johnstone were winning cups it didn't change anything
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy It would be great to break the Auld Firm monopoly, and not only for a freak season, as when Hibs won the Scottish Cup. I mean a team or three who could mount a realistic challenge.
thatscottishguy26-30, M
@helensusanswift A cup win doesn't really do that though. Yes Aberdeen winning next week would be something but not bc of an old firm monopoly. It would be bc of just Celtic winning everything for years. Even then it won't shake things up massively. The only thing that could possibly shake things up in this league is someone outside of Celtic and the scum winning the league. Cup wins mean little.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy I agree entirely with you. We need a sustained challenge, which a cup win is not
thatscottishguy26-30, M
@helensusanswift Although I'd still rather Celtic keep winning everything
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy Of course you would - you're a Celtic fan. However, a greater challenge in Scotland might lead to a more exciting league and perhaps more sponsorship or larger crowds, which might allow Celtic, Aberdeen or that lesser team to ch

@helensusanswift I can't really imagine our league getting to that point.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy nor can I, unfortunately.
